Practical, at the resort
Bookings and owners
You book directly with the owners, D. Truijens and R.G.A. Truijens. We answer questions about your booking ourselves, usually within a few hours. We are based in the Netherlands, so replies overnight can take a little longer, if something is urgent during your stay, contact Andy.
Airport transfer
We run a V.I.P. service to and from Hato Airport, by luxury bus for up to 8 people.
€ 75.00 (roughly NAf 150.00) one way.
Internet
Free wifi in and around the property. The login code and QR code are posted in the electricity box. The host will point them out. Scan it and you are on.
Water and electricity
Water and power are expensive on Curaçao. We recommend using the air conditioning mainly at night: it keeps the cost down and keeps mosquitoes out.
We use a Pagatinu, a prepaid system onto which we load € 100 of electricity. With normal use and no air conditioning that covers the whole holiday. If it runs out, Andy will show you where to top it up.
The tap water is of excellent quality and perfectly drinkable, but also expensive, so please use it with care.
Park rules
You are staying in a prime spot in Mambo. Between 21:00 and 09:00 disco music and loud music are not permitted; security checks on this regularly.
Smoking and pets
Smoking is not permitted inside the property or on the balcony. Please step outside.
Pets are not allowed in the villas or apartments.
Towels and bed linen
All villas and apartments come with plenty of towels and bed linen. Beach towels are provided too, so you do not need to bring your own.
Cleaning
Every villa and apartment is cleaned before you arrive, and a final clean is included. Want an extra clean during your stay? Book it with your reservation or on site with Andy.

Practical information about Curaçao
Immigration card, currency, plugs, tap water and the best time to visit.
Do I need a digital immigration card?
Yes. The Digital Immigration Card is mandatory for all foreign travellers clearing immigration in Curaçao. Complete it online at dicardcuracao.com/dicard.
What time zone is Curaçao in?
Curaçao is in the Atlantic Standard Time zone (UTC−4) and does not observe daylight saving time. During the European summer the difference with Western Europe is 6 hours; in winter it is 5 hours.
When is the best time of year to visit Curaçao?
The weather is rarely an issue (around 30–32 °C year-round), so many people plan around what is on. Carnival (February and March) is hugely popular, with parades in the final ten days. April brings the Curaçao International Film Festival Rotterdam and King's Day. Late August into early September is the Curaçao North Sea Jazz Festival. December and early January are special, with pagaras, fireworks, New Year's Eve parties, the Unox New Year's Splash and Fuik Day.
Do I need insect repellent?
Mosquitoes are a nuisance and can carry disease, so it is best to avoid bites. They are most active around dawn and dusk, and more numerous a day or two after rain. Use a repellent containing DEET on all exposed skin; Picaridin, oil of lemon eucalyptus and IR3535 also work. Apply sunscreen first, then the repellent.
What currency is used in Curaçao?
The Antillean guilder (ANG), also called the florin. Its rate is pegged to the dollar at 1 USD = 1.80 ANG. At a bank you exchange at 1.78 or 1.82, depending on direction. US dollars are accepted everywhere; shops and restaurants usually use 1 USD = 1.75 ANG for convenience.
Can I pay in euros or dollars?
You can use US dollars everywhere. Euros can only be exchanged at a bank. You will usually get your change in guilders.
Do I need a plug adapter?
No. Our houses and apartments have 220V sockets taking the standard European plug.
Can I drink the tap water?
Yes. The water on Curaçao is not only safe but of excellent quality. It is produced by Aqualectra from seawater: soft, free of chloride, low in calcium, tasteless and odourless, with a sound bacteriological composition.
What is the legal drinking age?
18, for beer and wine as well as spirits.
